Stance

Author should provide his feelings about the subject in the paper, because it connects him more with his audience. Those feelings are called stance. Stance is very important in the writing, because audience will trust author more and it will be easier for author to persuade them.

For example, during technical description assignment, I wrote about Scanditech Precision Screwdriver Set. I am feeling very good about this set and I like it. And that is one of the reason I picked it to describe. I wanted my audience to learn more about it and to persuade them to use it, because I liked for myself.  As I said in my paper, “I am using this toolkit for over five years and it is a grateful experience” (Technical Description). This phrase represents my stance towards the subject.

As well as exigence, stance is a great thing to have for the author. It significantly increases his credibility in the eyes of his audience.
