Engage in genre analysis and multimodal composing to explore effective writing across disciplinary contexts and beyond.

Before each major assignment we had to do a genre analysis rubric, where we analyzed student samples from the previous years on the concrete genre. We looked at how well they were structured. What was done well and what needs improvement. Also, we concentrated on how author works with his audience and purpose.

Those assignments helped me to understand the genre before writing it. After analyzing student samples, I have a good idea of what I should do and what I should not. Below I provided an example of my genre analysis of the engineering proposal student sample (Figure 1).
